Where Is Jesus at Right Now?
Mark 16:19 — So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Is There a Witness to This?
Acts 7:55 — But he (Stephen), being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.
Stephen’s testimony confirms what Mark recorded: Jesus is at the right hand of God — exalted, glorified, and reigning in expectation.
When Does Jesus Leave the Right Hand of the Father?
Hebrews 10:12–13 —
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
From the moment Jesus sat down, He began expecting — waiting in divine patience — until the time comes when His enemies are made His footstool.
That does not occur at the beginning of the Tribulation. His position remains fixed until that time is fulfilled.
Where Is Jesus During the Day of His Wrath?
Psalms 110:5 — The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
He remains at the right hand, executing judgment from the throne.
This perfectly aligns with Psalms 110:1 — The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
When Does He Arise?
Psalms 132:7–9 —
We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
Notice the sequence: the footstool is prepared first — then He arises into His rest. His rising is directly tied to the worship of His saints and the establishment of His resting place — His Kingdom.
The Promise of the Second Shaking
Hebrews 12:26 — Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
This refers to two great shouts — one past, one future.
The First Shout: “It Is Finished”
Matthew 27:50–53 —
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Sequence of the First Shout:
- A loud voice — “It is finished.”
- The earth quaked.
- Graves opened.
- Saints arose and entered the holy city.
That was the earthly shaking — the proof that the payment for sin was completed.
The Second Shout: “It Is Done”
Revelation 16:17–19 —
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
The first shout finished the purchase.
The second shout redeems the purchased possession.
Heaven and earth will shake, signaling that His Kingdom is being fully established.
The Pattern Repeats
- Loud voice — “It is done.”
- Heaven and earth quake.
- Resurrection.
- The saints enter the New Jerusalem.
This is when the world becomes His footstool, and His enemies are finally subdued.
Who Can Stand?
Revelation 6:17 — For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
That question is answered in Hebrews 12:26–29 —
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
For our God is a consuming fire.
Only those who belong to the unshakable Kingdom will stand.
Conclusion
Jesus now remains seated at the right hand of the Father, awaiting the completion of the divine timetable when all His enemies are made His footstool.
He will not arise until the moment ordained by the Father — when judgment, redemption, and resurrection converge.
At His first shout, “It is finished,” the earth shook, and the saints arose as proof that sin was paid in full.
At His second shout, “It is done,” heaven and earth will shake together, and the saints will rise into the eternal Kingdom that cannot be moved.
The footstool symbolizes total dominion — the moment when all rebellion is subdued beneath His feet.
At that time, His priests will be clothed in righteousness, His saints will shout for joy, and the Lord will arise into His rest, enthroned forever in glory.
Those who belong to His Kingdom — unshaken and purified — will stand in that consuming fire and never be moved again.
