A Warning About the Red Heifer and the Real Temple of God

There are growing rumors that a red heifer may soon be sacrificed—possibly on the 9th of Av on the Hebrew calendar, a date historically marked by the destruction of both the First and Second Temples. Some believe this sacrifice will help pave the way for the construction of a Third Temple in Jerusalem.

But while this may appear to be a step toward biblical prophecy, we must ask a deeper, more sobering question:

Could this actually signal the destruction of the true temple—not the building in Jerusalem, but the temple God desires to dwell in?

🕯️ A Day of Judgment, Not Restoration

Both the First Temple (586 BCE) and Second Temple (70 CE) were destroyed on the 9th of Av, a date so consistently tragic that the Jewish people mark it as a day of mourning and fasting.

To now perform a red heifer sacrifice—a ritual intended for temple purification—on this same date is not likely coincidence. It could be a spiritual signal, a counterfeit beginning dressed as prophetic fulfillment.

Rather than preparing for the presence of God, this may be preparing the way for spiritual deception.

✝️ Jesus Fulfilled the Shadows—We Are the Temple

Under the New Covenant, God no longer dwells in buildings made with hands.

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” —1 Corinthians 3:16
“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up… But He was speaking of the temple of His body.” —John 2:19, 21

The red heifer sacrifice was a shadow of Christ’s perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 9:13–14). To reintroduce it is to deny the sufficiency of Jesus’ blood and attempt to return to a covenant God already fulfilled.

That is not faith. That is apostasy.

Some Christians are not calling for sacrifices, but still support the rebuilding of a Third Temple, believing it is required for prophecy—like the revealing of the Antichrist or the timing of the rapture.

But Scripture tells us:

“The man of sin… sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” —2 Thessalonians 2:4

If the body is where God dwells now…
Then the Antichrist doesn’t need a building—
He only needs a body.

The most dangerous deception is not a man standing in a rebuilt temple—
It’s a man standing in a person who has become a counterfeit temple, void of the Spirit of God.

“If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.” —1 Corinthians 3:17

⚠️ Helping to Build the Antichrist’s Platform

Even with good intentions, celebrating a red heifer sacrifice or supporting a Third Temple may be helping to build the very stage the man of sin will step onto.

Not in God’s name—but in his own.

And when that day comes, many will be caught off guard:

Because they were looking for a building, and not watching for a spiritual invasion.

To return to old shadows is to walk away from the Light.

Whether or not the red heifer is sacrificed on August 3rd remains to be seen. We are not setting dates. But we are watching. And we are warning:

• Don’t mistake religious enthusiasm for prophetic truth.
• Don’t confuse temple construction with Kingdom restoration.
• Don’t support a movement that rebuilds what Jesus already fulfilled.

Let the Jewish leaders build what they will.
But let it be clear:

Only those who reject the blood of Christ and accept the purification of ashes are in danger of destroying the true temple within themselves.

For the Spirit of God does not dwell in stone.
He dwells in us.
